Well what happened! Before I knew it, I went from working in March to sitting here in July trying to figure out what happened to all those months....time is a fickle friend.
A lot has happened to me in the last few months and I will try to let all my diehard fans...yes all two of you... know all about the fun I have been having.
But for today, it's back to work for me. I finally have got a few minutes to work on some actual research.
In the Spotlight section of the The Weekly Genealogist put out by the NEHGS on 23 July 2014, Valerie Beaudrault talks about a new website called the Fort Collins History Connection. She states, "The Fort Collins Museum of Discovery and the Poudre River Public
Library District have collaborated to create the Fort Collins History
Connection website." I found this a tad bit interesting as my Timbrel family is from around that area. So I headed on over there and did a quick search for
"Timbrel" and what do you know I got a hit. Sweet! Well, two to be more precise. But the first one is the pretty cool hit.
It is a "1929 Fort Collins Directory" and in it, it lists my Great Grandpa Lesile Timbrel as living in Loveland on 143 10th Street.
I had heard that the Google car was here in Elko a couple weeks ago and it must have been in the back on my mind for all this time. Because I decided to look and see if it had made a pass through Loveland Colorado. Happily it has!!
This is a picture of the house located at 143 10th St Loveland, CO. According to Larimer County records it is a 3 bedroom, 1 bath. I would love to be able to visit this home and see the inside. It has probably gone through many changes since my Great Grandparents lived there in 1929. My Grandpa Lloyd and his older brother Kenny and older sister Juanita lived in this house also. I can imagine them playing outside and running up and down the sidewalks. Not sure when my Grandpa got polio but it very likely could have been in this house. Interesting to see someplace and realize that part of your past was there.

"Hey there Kiddo!"
Yesterday, these words were probably spoken to my Uncle as he went on to be with our family in Heaven. I can only imagine the family reunion that greeted him.
My Uncle Lyle was one of the best people I know. He was always there with a smile and a laugh and a good ear. And he was never one to get bored or go cross eyed when I started talking about all the new things I had learned about our family since the last time I had seen him. In fact, he loved learning about them as much as I did.
I wish I had the words to express how deeply he will be missed by all in our family. But I am comforted to know that he is now doing what he always did best here on Earth, up in Heaven....watching over all of us. Our family may have lost a great Patriarch but Heaven received an Angel.
Uncle Lyle tell Grandma & Grandpa I said "I love them". And know that you will never be far from my thoughts and always in my heart. Can't wait to hear "Hey there Kiddo" from you again someday....
Rest In Peace

Miracle in a Sand Storm
We lived in a small mining town in Nevada. About one hundred miles from Reno. We had been to Reno to do our shopping. On the way home I could see a sandstorm ahead of us. Cars were coming out of it, so I thought it couldn't be to bad. We had one hill that had a drop off close to the highway. And that's were the sand storm was. We got almost to the top when it hit us. The wind was blowing so hard that it was blowing sand in thru the rubber of the closed wing window, right into my left eye. I couldn't see out of it. Then it was like some one had painted the windows black. We couldn't see anything. I couldn't stop, there were cars behind us. But I was more afraid of going on. I heard myself saying (Oh God help us). All at once it was like a great hand scooped out the sand around us. If I had gone about a foot more, we would have gone over. It was like we were in a pocket. I got the car turned and got going. The pocket stayed with us till we were out of the storm. All the way out we could see the sand fill in behind us. I drove about ten miles before I pulled over and stopped, and just sat there. One of the kid's said "Mom your hair is white! dad won't know you.) I looked in the mirror and it was white. But it was from the sand that came through the wing window. Everyone had come up with a reason for the pocket. But no one will ever make me believe it was anything but a miracle!

Another year...Just getting better!
Another year has come and gone, Theron & I are still kicking it! Today, we have been married for 11 years and later this year we will have been together for 14....14 YEARS!! Holy Crow but that makes me feel old. ;) It's ok because there is no one else that I would want to get old with.
I am so grateful for every second with my wonderful husband....even the bad ones. And trust me with two, very opinionated people like us there have been some shaky ones. But they just make the good ones all the more sweeter.
Next year (2015), my parents celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. And Theron's are celebrating their 43 this year! What mentor's we have before us!! I am looking forward to the next 40+ years with my guy!
Happy Anniversary Babe! I love you!

Pretty Orchids my main squeeze brought home today for me :D |
Christmas Break!!
Whew!! Christmas break is over but I am still trying to catch up on everything that I fell behind in. Which was pretty much...Everything!!
December started off like any other month but I was soon emerged in candy making and present wrapping and getting a few last craft projects done and mailed off. It was GREAT!!
Downside is that my genealogy got put on the back burner... :(
Then it was Christmas break and Theron & the kids were home for a full week with me!! It was wonderful...we went to my parents for Christmas and I can't tell you how happy I was to be with all of my most favorite people. So lots of memories made!! Then on the 26th we had to come home so Theron could go back to work. :( Sad, but we knew we couldn't stay there forever.
The kids and I had a wonderful weekend after that. Then Theron had New Year's off, and we brought it in in high fashion....at home in our pajama's... :) Just the way I liked it!
The kids and I spent the rest of vacation just hanging out, working on crafts, watching T.V. Really whatever we wanted to do. I put all my orders on hold and my genealogy and just spent some good ol' fashion quality time with them. :D
But here we are the first week back and I have been exhausted! I am trying to catch up and so far I haven't made it there yet.... I will make it there though...just give me another week. ;)
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and was able to make some beautiful memories! And I hope this new year brings you such blessings...and new family members (they can be dead ones too)!
